She DID it!

Ash finally took her first few decent steps at 17 months 5 days, the night just before Daddy came home!

She still prefer to crawl though... but at least she is more 'open' in walking now :)

To the playground...

The weather has recently turned warm and so... we are outdoors!

We strolled all the way to the playground and the kids have fun... so did I :)

Its all about Art

19 April 2012

Children's House had an annual art show last Thursday to showcase the work done by the children over the past year. Kaeden was so enthusiastic about the whole event that he couldn't stop talking about it!

It was a short session with us following Kaeden round his classroom and having him explaining to us what his art is about...

and then it was out to the playground for some outdoor fun!

Ash's weight check @ 16.5 months

Brought Ash for her medical appointment with Dr McFarland this morning and am very happy to see that she has gained 350g over the past month.

She is now 8.95kg, measuring 77cm. Though not a very impressive number but so long she is growing, its more than enough for me :)

Will it be soon?

Our little girl stood up on her own the night before Daddy left for Florida...

She took 2 unassisted steps during the 1st week of Daddy's absence and then back to crawling again!

Daddy will be home in about 2 weeks time. Will she be able to walk by then? Heehee can't wait to find out!

Cottonwood Grille

07 April 2012

Cottonwood Grille is one of the restaurants that both of us wanted to visit when we first arrived here in Potatoland. Somehow it just got forgotten weeks after weeks in our every visit to Boise over the weekend.

Almost a year later... on our special day... we finally made a trip there!

My surprise from hubby! So super sweeeet right?

Our selection for the night with a combination of chicken, fish and seafood!

... but guess Ash still prefers her toasted white bread *oops*

Some pictures we took in between food servings...

We spent a wonderful anniversary night together at Cottonwood Grille... Blogging about this now is making me miss my old man. Counting down to his return! 16 more days to go...

060402

I still remember when we first got the keys to our Segar flat, when we held each other's hand and exchanged our marriage vows... both of us were just 21. Kind of hard to imagine two young adults committing their lives to one another at this age but well... we did :)

Not everyday in our 10 years marriage were sunny days but its overcoming those bad times together that brought us even closely united as one.

Dear, thank you for always being a part of mine and the kid's lives. I know its tough for you given your rubber-band hours yet you have never given up trying to be involved. Well, at least your "lesser-time-spent-with-us" ever since we came over here has not made us love you any lesser. You are still the 'chosen one' in our kid's heart!

Happy Anniversary!

Love you loads,

Wifey :)

Blogging the very sweet message that Walker left on my FB...

"Then I made the promise to love you, you gave me your heart. Then I spend more time at work, you gave me your life. Then we have kids, you gave them your love. Dear, I love you. Happy anniversary!"

Similarities

It had been years since I last did a sit-in with Kaeden for his accompanied class that I almost forgotten that familiar "BLANK" expression of his...

All the other kids in Kindermusik haven always been very active and responsive in class... But don't know why my Ash will just sit quietly and carry a expressionless face (like her brother)! Sometime, I couldn't help but wonder whether is she on the same planet as us...

Well, I got the answer I was looking for :) Indeed, Kaeden DID absorb (we realized it some years back) and so did ASH!

My little girl repeated all those movements she has learnt in Kindermusik!!!

She took the Easter eggs that Kaeden brought home from school and shook them around to make 'music'...

After which, she drove them on the ground like cars and even mimicking the sound! Exactly, the same way Ms Diane taught her in class :)

Getting her to roll on top of a ball was something I almost always couldn't get her to do in class. Yet, I saw her trying to get herself up on a balloon! Heehee, was praying reaaaaaal hard that the balloon won't burst right into her face! Else it will really be 'good-bye' with balls!

Daddy and Mummy are sooooo proud of you, my little ice Princess!

Uninvited guest

Walker has left for TDY yesterday and will be away for the next 3 weeks. True enough to his words, I found myself an uninvited guest on my bed that very night...

PCV Spouse Day

Spouse Day is an annual event organised by the squadron to give us (the spouses) an insight view of our hubbies @ work... Something like an open house :)

This year's event was made special as it coincides with the visit from our Minister for Defence, Dr Ng Eng Hen. Heehee... we were very proud of Kaeden when he managed to converse confidently when asked about his life here in Potatoland.

Didn't expect a picture of it to be captured and up in the news!

Capilano Suspension Bridge

27 March 2012

Its a wet and gloomy morning but nothing can deter us (erm... I mean the boys) from 'conquering' the famous Capilano Suspension Bridge!

They took a 2 hours hike and covered the entire park including the newly opened "Cliff Walk". My little boy was pretty impressive... showed no fear at all despite the height!

Some pictures that Daddy Walker took along the way...

And, lastly... a photo of the Cheng's family :)

A day in Vancouver, BC

26 March 2012

Granville Island

"Granville Island... imagine an island in the middle of a city... rich in history and bustling with activities."

I was led to imagine it as a beautiful island like Sentosa... but well, it wasn't even close! Kinda disappointed, though the boys enjoyed themselves nonetheless :)

Kids Market

Public Market

Stanley Park

We drove over to Stanley Park after our yummy Dim Sum lunch @ Sun Sui Wah.

Isn't the scenery breathtaking?

Such a pity we didn't get to stay long as it was drizzling, heehee but definitely long enough for someone to finish up his doughnut!

Back to School

Its the 1st day of school after Spring break! Gone are the fleece-lined jeans and thick winter jacket...

Hello to lighter clothes!
