Breakfast @ Nook

I have been wanting to visit Nook ever since I came across it from a friend's blog. Glad that we finally had the chance to check out this place on Christmas's day. Ho Ho Ho!

We ordered the usual breakfast set for ourselves...

...and the original buttermilk pancake batter with an assortment of toppings for Kaeden.

The pancake is YUMMY! And most importantly… so fun to play with! Even the Daddy couldn't resist having a ‘hand’ in it…

Verdict: A very nice place and food’s good! Will definitely revisit again to try other flavors of the pancake batter!

Christmas Eve

We had a mini housewarming with a couple of our old friends over Christmas Eve. The kids were so happy to have company and I am glad they all played well together, including the younger ones!

A big thanks to everyone who came and the gifts showered upon us. Have a blessed Christmas to all...

Milk and Kimchi Hotpot

01 December 2013

Our first ever hotpot with cow's milk as its broth! Quite a unique taste, though I still prefer the Kimchi soup based better...

Flying Cow Ranch

01 December 2013

Rise and shine to our first day here on this beautiful ranch!

Complimentary breakfast was served at 飛牛餐廳, featuring a good spread of mainly Asian food. Their 馒头 were really delicious (according to hub), made fresh from the cow's milk produced on the farm!

After fueling our tummy for the morning, we set off on our hike towards the green pasture in search of farm animals...

The children were really excited to feed the animals. Our little Ash, who usually fled at the sight of mascots, was actually alright with a bunch of hungry baby goats charging towards her!

Further down the field were ducks on parade...

and a long line of people queuing for a turn to 'milk' the cow... We joined in of cos! Its interesting to know that all along, we were under the wrong impression that milking the cow = pulling the udders! Luckily we didn't try that on the cow... HAHA

It was almost late afternoon by the time we were done with all the feedings and milking. Daddy, who must have felt adventurous then, suggested taking one of those trails back to our room instead...

All I could say was... we (kids & I) have never felt so happy to see a rest area and tractor after all the endless walking!

Don't need to guess lah! We gave up and hitched a ride on the tractor all the way back to our room!

Doctor for A Day (Light a Dream)

Event Details

An exciting education journey catered for children aged 5-10 where kids get to play dress up and role play as doctors in settings like the Operating Theatre and the Emergency Room!

Happened to see the registration for this event on FB and immediately logged in to purchase! Didn't expect most of the tickets to be sold out so fast! So thankful to still be able to grab tickets for the kids :)

Registration commenced 5 minutes before the event start time. We were given a set of 'doctor' uniform and a name tag. So cool!

A short briefing to the kids on the responsibilities of a doctor, the do/don't and how to maintain personal hygiene so as to protect oneself and the patients they are looking after...

And then the on-job training began...

Doctor @ the A & E room

Pediatrician @ the Nursery

Surgeon in the Operating Theatre

Finally... Graduation!

Fun & meaningful event for the kids and I bet both Kaeden & Klaudia enjoyed themselves.

Ash cant't wait to be eligible too!

Welcome to Taiwan!

30 November 2013

It has been a crazy month at work (and still is! at least till after January) and words cannot explain the guilt I felt every morning, having to send the kids away to my mum despite being the school holidays now.

Thanks to my many wonderful colleagues in the office, their little help here and there, enabled me to squeeze out some time away from work to be with them…

It was a 4H35M flight and the kids were wonderful throughout! Totally a breeze for us *thankful*

Upon arrival, we were glad that Taipei wasn't that cold at all! The driver, whom we had prearranged to pick us up from the airport were right outside waiting for us.

After much anticipation, we finally saw the Flying Cow signboard! We began our search for food right after checking in! As most of the places were already closed for the day, we settled our late-night dinner at 紅穀倉 (Red Barn).

Food was not bad! Love the super cutesy pudding that 'popped' when poked!

We took a stroll back to our room in semi darkness and almost ended up getting lost! Alas we were back in our room and our two young investigators wasted no time exploring the huge room!

End of a School Year

Its the end of the school year for the kids and both of them are enjoying their well-deserved break at Grandma's.

Kaeden has done pretty well for all his subjects, particularly in Chinese! I was shocked beyond words when I received the school's offer for him to study Higher Chinese in P2! Our hard work did pay off.

As for Ash, she has settled down nicely in GH and all the teachers adore her! Ms Lilian feedback that she needs more practice with colouring as she always look lost when holding a crayon....

So... I did as told and guess what? She totally has no issue with colouring, joining dots and tracing!

Hmmm... She definitely will be a tougher student to teach in future as compared to her brother...
