The DAY itself

Our alarm sounded at 4am... We woke up to find my parents already sitting in the living room. Both of them looked like they didn't sleep much too.

I dressed the kids first and brought them down... Guess Dad & Mum would love to spend a little more time with them... 18 months is not exactly a short time when you are missing someone :(

Ate the fried egg that my mum lovingly prepared for me even though food was the last thing on my mind at the moment... I wanted to make her happy and I am glad I did...

The 'breakdown' came about in the lift. Simply couldn't hold back my tears with my mum just inches apart from me... We hugged and cried like small children. I started missing her already...

*********

The guys were there at the airport to send us off. It was really a very nice gesture especially our flight out was so early... appreciate it loads. Please keep in touch!

The NIGHT before

In less than few hours, we will be leaving Singapore for our new adventure in the United States. Looking at the time now, its quite obvious that I am having some trouble falling asleep...

Its not as easy as I thought it would be to say "goodbyes" to all my family/friends and familiar things around me. My heart has been in this constant aching mode lately as 我真的有太多太多的不舍和放不下. Saying 'goodbyes' is not really my cup of tea :(

I hope to seek comfort in Him...

God, I pray that you will watch over my parents and keep them in good health.

Amen

Kite-flying & Picnic @ Marina Barrage

The kids had great fun flying kites and munching pizza at Marina Barrage on Sunday.

Ash was a little grumpy though, probably because of the heat but she was OK after awhile.

Mummy & Ash hiding under the shade...

Kaeden, Kaelyn & ZenRong picnic-king on the grass... So cute!

After the kids were done, we adjourned to Canopy @ Marina Country Club for some drinks. It was a nice evening spent catching up with friends before we leave. Hope I won't get too weepy this Sunday :(

Kaeden CAN swim

After 4 lessons with Uncle Yeo, Kaeden can finally swim without his kick board! Even though we still need to work more on his hand/leg movement but its good enough for now.

Son, you have done us proud!

Last parent's sit-in class in JG

Kaeden has been attending JG since he was 18 months old. From Bilingual Play Club to English/Chinese Edudrama and then now Chinese Readers and Writers, it has been a wonderful 3.5 years with them.

Thank you to all the 老师 for the positive learning experience in Kaeden's journey to conquer Chinese. We hope Ash will enjoy JG as much as her brother when we are back.

Cereal feeding

Our dear Princess is finally eating after I switched her rice cereal to the brand that Kaeden used to eat... Healthy Times!

Guess I should just give up trying to be innovative since Kaeden and Ash seem to have liking for the same type/brand of food!

Lunch for the past few days were cereal mixed with different vegetables (one type at a time in case of allergy)... Butternut Squash, Carrots, Avocado and Apples. She LOVE all of them and that makes me HAPPY! Gonna start her on Potato and Zucchini before we leave Singapore next week *excited*

Candid shots of Ashlyn

The advantages of a sahm - being there to witness everything about them (including the unglam moments)!

Ash's girly dress-up

Using her newly acquired skills of flipping and rolling... she ended up 'piak' into one corner of the room.

My little robber! She was found on the floor holding on to MY wristlet!

Brush "Gum"

I have finally managed to get THIS!

Seems like this product has been discontinued in the States :( So happy that Singapore is still selling! Heehee hope Ash likes this as much as her brother.

Updates on Big Move as @ 15/05

Its exactly 15 days left to our big move and everyday I am experiencing a different set of feelings. Whether it is excitement, worries or fear, I know that I have to be strong for Walker and the kids as they needed my support now.

The Lord will give me strength... for He is always there, watching over our family... I just need to trust in Him.

Some updates...

Milo's export: We have managed to confirm a place for Milo on board both ANA and UA. Cheryl will then proceed to get all the necessary documentations ready and arrange for Milo's pre-export health check.

Since we will be there 2 weeks earlier than our official date, we will have to make our own accommodation arrangement. Thankfully its not too difficult to find a pet friendly hotel in the US. Have done a search on the web and we are likely to settle for Best Western Inn PLUS.

10 May 2011: Our flight itinerary have been confirmed. We will be flying from Singapore to San Francisco via ANA and then switch over to United Airlines for the domestic flight.

05 May 2011: The movers collected our boxes from mum's place this morning. Another item on our list to be marked 'completed'.

22 April 2011: We handed over our house to the new tenant (2-years corporate lease to a single Chinese lady) and bade temporary farewell to YTR.

Intense training

I have gotten a new swimming instructor for Kaeden as I felt that there isn't any progression in his learning. Even though we are leaving for the States in about 3 weeks, I still hope that we are able to make full use of the time left.

It was his first lesson yesterday and Uncle Yeo is really a no pushover. He made Kaeden correct his kicking/breathing again and again until he got it right! Initially, I was worried that Kaeden might be turned off from swimming but instead, this has spurred him to do better. We proud of him :)

His reward...

Tangrams

When I first came across this word in GH K2-T4 Bulletin, I was like huh?! Walker was worst! He thought I was referring to weight measurement... 10 grams!

What we found on the web?

Tangrams is widely used when teaching spatial concepts in geometry. It develops logical thinking and spatial imagination etc...

And so... I bought a set of magnetic puzzle for Kaeden and he love it to bits! He can sit there for hours playing on his own. So far, he managed to complete 21/30 puzzles on his own. Good job son!

Short Getaway

The 4 of us headed to Sentosa for more fun after the party @ Kidz Amaze. We checked into Siloso Beach Resort for Part 2 of our celebration.

Kaeden was very happy to receive so many presents! He couldn't resist opening them while waiting for Ash to wake up. Simply love the smile on his face!

And then Ash decided to join us... *wave*

So off we went to explore the rest of the island and our first stop was the Sky Luge. Came here 3 years ago on Kaeden's 2nd birthday and he was barely 90cm then. Now he is a tall boy @ almost 115cm!

Mummy & Ash waited at the foot of the hill for the boys...

Here they come!

We had dinner @ Singapore Seafood Republic and the food were fantastic! Super yumilicious!

Our evening walk around Resort World...

MY surprise awaited me in the hotel room! A bouquet of flowers from Walker to commemorate my "hard work" on this special day.

the BIG 5!

It was a last minute decision to have a party for the kids and I am glad everything turned out well. *Pat pat to Anna & I*
