Socky the Monkey

I went up to Kaeden's room and literally walked into a 'birthday party' for Socky! So that's what he has been hiding in his room for :)

The first thing that came across my mind... my son is sooooo sweet!

Some background story on Socky...

Few Saturdays back at the Build-A-Bear store at Boise Town Square, Walker saw the advert for a Sock Monkey and he found it very cute (yessssh, its WALKER who suggested it first!)... so the both of them went inside and that's how Socky the Monkey came into our family.

Inside the package with Socky was his birth cert and a calendar that mentioned about the Sock Monkey turning 15 on 21st October. Haha obviously Kaeden took note of it and wanted to celebrate his birthday!

Down Truckee River

09 August 2012

River rafting is really FUN and exciting!

We waited for our raft to be ready...

took turns to paddle...

to rest...

and most importantly... we did something together as a family :)

It was indeed an experience for all of us... especially me, who probably wouldn't even give it a try if not to meet the 'at least 2 adults per raft' requirement. Very glad that we made the trip back to Lake Tahoe for this.

Linder Farm

Dusty!

...was the first thing that came across my mind when trying to blog about our recent visit to Linder Farm!

But then again, everyone had fun and I was the only one affected by it :( Well... blame it on my weak lungs... haha

We went over after our lunch at Pho Tam and was surprised to see that its such a HUGE farm! Looks really fun and will be fun if not for the dust... *oops*

My fav would have to be the hayride...

...which took us through the corn maze and out to the pumpkin patch where we 'harvested' some pumpkins for Halloween!

The kids enjoyed themselves in the corn box and how I wish I could join them as well......

And then Daddy took us through the corn maze BECAUSE his friends highly recommended it, hence its a must-go...

Indeed it was quite an experience getting 'lost' amidst the cornfields and I trust that the bigger corn maze would have been more challenging. Heehee... too bad the kids got restless so we decided to give it a miss :)

Ash's bracelet

Ms Debbie handed me a bracelet that Ash made in class today and even commended her on her patience. Haha... seems like Ash is the only one who managed to complete it!

*drum roll* Presenting Ash and her first piece of craft work :)

Yosemite National Park

08 August 2012

After what seemed like many hours on the road, we finally reached the entrance of Yosemite National Park!

Once inside the park, it felt as though we were led into another world surrounded only by beauty in its most natural form... WoW

Everywhere is so so beautiful...

The highlight of our trip was the drive up to Glacier point, which is an overlook of the Yosemite Valley, Half Dome and Yosemite Falls. The view from up there is simply breathtaking that the photographs does not do justice to it.

Half Dome... the iconic symbol of Yosemite National Park

Cold cold Mid Autumn Festival

The image of Mid Autumn Festival has always been one of playground filled with kids, lanterns and burning candles but over here... we looked like 4 lost souls roaming around Bear Loop with a lantern in our hands!

Nonetheless, it was quite an experience for the kids, especially Ash who enjoyed herself tremendously... both with the lantern and my snow skin moon cake :)

Happy Mid Autumn Festival!
