Its High... its Huge... its Lake Tahoe!

04 August 2012

The 1st stop of our national park escapade was to Lake Tahoe, the second largest lake in the world.

The view from the vantage point was simply magnificent. Even a city girl like me was awed by the sight!

I didn't know how we could get the idea that Lake Tahoe was only a lake when the whole place was bustling full of activities. Boating, rafting, cycling and so many more! Kaeden even tried horseback riding with some help from Daddy :)

小妹上学了!

After much this and that, we decided to try Ash for school again. This time round, I am determined to make it work sooooo please... wish me luck!

Yesterday was her 1st day of school at Grace Montessori.

She walked into the room happily by herself but started crying when she saw me leaving. Sigh... made me wanted to cry too :(

When I picked her up in the afternoon, she was also crying :( Ms Debbie told me that so long she has something to occupy her, she will 'forget' to cry!

Day 2: I was worried that she might try to escape or clung on to me like the previous time after knowing what school entails. To my surprise, she walked through the gates and into the room happily by herself though sadly, she started to cry when she saw me leave :(

At least she was smiling away when I picked her up. She even waved goodbye to all the teachers. I hope this signify a good start...

Kaeden's 1st day in Grade 1

Summer holidays are officially OVER and the children are back to school once again! *phew*

Kaeden started his 1st day in Grade 1 at the Base Primary School this morning. Happy to know that he is adapting well to a new environment with ease.

We arrived at the school gate just seconds before the bell ring! Thankfully, it didn't take us long to find his classroom. Not nice to be late on the 1st day of school mah...

Seeing him enter his class confidently on his own made me realised how much my boy has grown. No more teary goodbyes... Heehee

And then I decided to pop by during recess time just to check how he is coping with food and all. Well, he is doing great. Guess its Mummy that must learn to 放心 and let go :)

And we got IN!

We managed to secure a place in DLS with no balloting required for the 'Within 1 km Distance from Home to School" category!

Words couldn't express my happiness. Thank you, our heavenly Father!
