Chinese New Year is around the corner! I am looking forward to the long holidays ahead to spend some quality time with hubby.
In another 6 more days, he will be flying off to Korat for his 5 weeks detachment. Thus, this visit is specially scheduled so that daddy can see Kaeden before leaving Singapore.
The clinic is exceptionally packed today but everyone seems to be in a festive mood, including the nurses and Dr Ho. The visit was rather brief with a short scan to “confirm” the gender and to detect the heartbeat.
Sigh….! I put on another 2 kg for the past 4 weeks, thus bringing my total weight gain to 6 kg as of Week 24. No wonder, I am starting to look more and more like an over-sized penguin.
Before leaving the clinic, the nurse delivered a horrible new to me! I am supposed to go for my Glucose Tolerance Test on my next visit and guess what? Hubby will not be around with me!!!! She described the procedure of the test to me and immediately, I can feel my knees going weak. I have to start fasting from 10 pm onwards on the previous night and to report to the laboratory at 8am the next morning. Below is a brief description of the day’s activities
8 am – Blood Test and Urine Test + 1 Glucose Drink
9 am – Blood Test and Urine Test
10 am – Blood Test and Urine Test
11 am – Report to clinic
Sounds horrible right!!! But what to do? I have already asked my mum to accompany me on that day just in case I faint from shock…Haha!
